PodPlay Questions

How Do I Link My DUPR Rating to My Fairgrounds Account?

What Is DUPR?

DUPR stands for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating — the most trusted rating system in the sport. Ratings range from 2.0 to 8.0 and update automatically based on your match results using DUPR’s advanced algorithm.

What Is DUPR-Verified Programming?

Certain Fairgrounds programs are now DUPR-verified, which means players must fall within a specific rating range to register. This ensures a consistent level of play and a better on-court experience for everyone.

Here’s how to link your existing DUPR with Fairgrounds:

  1. Tap the Account tab
  2. Tap DUPR Rating
  3. Follow the link to log in with your DUPR username + password

That’s it! Your rating will now be visible inside your Fairgrounds account.

Don’t have a DUPR yet? Here’s how to get started:

  1. Create a free DUPR account at mydupr.com
  2. Log matches with other DUPR players (both players must confirm the score)
  3. Join a Fairgrounds DUPR Clinic or event — we’ll log results for you!

The more matches you log, the more accurate your rating becomes.

How Do I Use the Check-In Button at Fairgrounds?

Checking in is quick and contactless — here’s how to do it using the QR code scanner at Fairgrounds:

  1. When you arrive for your reservation or event, a Check-In button will appear on your screen (it becomes active shortly before your start time)
  2. Tap Check-In to generate your personal QR code
  3. Hold your phone up to the scanner at the front desk
  4. When you hear a buzz, you’re good to go — you’re checked in!

Need help or don’t see the Check-In button? Our on-site team is always happy to assist.

How Can I Split the Bill for a Court Reservation With Friends?

Want to divide the cost of your court reservation with friends? Here's how to do it:

1. Toggle ‘Split the Bill’ at Checkout

On the final booking screen, turn on the Split the Bill option. You’ll see an estimate of how much each player will pay based on the number of players added.

2. The Reservation Holder is Charged First

The full cost of the reservation is temporarily held on the Reservation Holder’s card to secure the booking. Don’t worry — once the session is over and everyone’s payments go through, your charge will adjust automatically.

3. Invite Friends to Split

Once you book, invite your friends to join the reservation. They’ll get a prompt to confirm they agree to pay their share, and a hold will be placed on their cards for their portion.

What if Someone Cancels or Their Payment Fails?

Depending on the pricing model, the cost may either:

  • Be covered by the Reservation Holder
  • Or be re-split evenly among remaining attendees
  • (For example: if 1 person drops from a $44 booking for 4, the other 3 each pay ~$14.67.)

Final Charges Are Processed After You Play

After the reservation:

  • Everyone’s cards are charged their final amount
  • The Reservation Holder’s initial hold is updated to reflect the new total
  • Note: Only the Reservation Holder receives an email receipt. Guests do not receive a confirmation email.

We welcome event organizers to arrive up to 20 minutes before your event to welcome your guests and start setting up decor if the lounge space is available to do so. If you require more than 20 minutes of set up prior to your event, please take this into consideration before booking as an extra hour of space rental may be required.

My package includes coaching but I don’t want a coach. Can I have this charge removed?

While we understand you may not need coaching, we recommend all parties including at least one hour of professional coaching to help organize play and ensure a smooth experience, especially for beginners. Unfortunately, we are unable to remove coaching from the package as it is a key part of the event structure.

My package includes 1 hour of professional coaching. Do you offer additional coaching options?

Yes, we offer additional coaching options! Our experienced coaches are available for $150 per hour. You can add extra coaching hours beyond what’s included in your package, or opt to book a second coach for those parties that include many new players or who are looking for extra guidance and attention.

How do tournaments work?

If you choose the tournament option, our staff will organize the tournament for your event, and a coach will oversee and run the competition. Please note that this option requires a minimum of 2 hours of coaching.

What are the payment terms?

Once you finalize your booking preferences, you will receive a client booking agreement. This Agreement must be signed and returned to confirm the booking of the event along with a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total event cost. The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before the event date.

I’m sick. Can I rebook? And is there an additional fee for this?

If the request is made less than 14 days ahead of your event, you may choose a new date, but the 50% non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. A new deposit will be required to confirm the new date.

Do you offer bar service?

While we are not a licensed venue, we can apply for a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) to allow the service of alcohol at your event, provided it is a full buyout. Please note that there is an additional $100 fee for the permit, and alcohol will only be served to guests who are of legal drinking age.

What if I need to rebook?

We’re happy to assist you in rebooking your event at no extra charge if the request is made more than 14 days prior to the original event date. If the rebooking request is made within 14 days of the event, you may choose a new date; however, the 50% non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. A new deposit will be required to secure the new date.

What is your cancellation policy?

All changes or cancellations must be submitted in writing. Please note that cancellations or modifications will not be accepted within 14 days of the event date. If a cancellation is made within this 14-day period, the client will forfeit the 50% non-refundable deposit.

When do I pay?

All events require a 50% non refundable deposit to confirm booking, with the remainder of the amount due 14 days prior to the event. Members have up to 14 days prior to the event for any cancellations. All cancellations will be rebooked for another date.

Our event packages are carefully designed to provide excellent value and an exceptional experience. While we’re happy to discuss optional add-ons, these are charged separately. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer additional services or customizations at no cost. We appreciate your understanding!

Why should we book an event package instead of just reserving courts ourselves?

While you can reserve courts individually at a lower cost, an event package offers significant benefits: personalized learn-to-play instruction, tailored programming, and guaranteed advanced bookings for your desired date and time. Court bookings via the booking platform only become available 10 days before your preferred date & time and therefore might not be available due to high demand.

Is there parking at the venue?

How is the final cost determined?

The final event cost is determined after confirming your package, preferences and add-on selections. You will receive a breakdown of the costs before finalizing your booking.

What is the cost of a private event?

Pricing varies based on group size, duration, and any additional services. Fill out either our Private/Group Event Google Form or our Corporate Event Google Form to receive a detailed quote tailored to your event.

How long can I hold a date before confirming?

A hold on a date can only be placed for 48 hours. After that, the hold will be removed unless the 50% deposit is received.

How far in advance should I book?

Our courts are in high demand, for smaller private events, we recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance to secure your desired date and time, corporate events require 1 month's notice.

Can we book during off-hours or on weekends?

Yes, we offer flexible booking times, including evenings and weekends, to suit your group’s schedule. Availability may vary, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred time slot.

Are there catering options available?

While we don’t offer in-house catering, you’re welcome to bring your own food or work with local caterers. Some of our locations are conveniently close to great dining options if you prefer to plan a post-game meal offsite.

Do I need to know how to play pickleball or padel?

Not at all! We offer beginner-friendly learn-to-play sessions led by our certified instructors, so everyone can enjoy, regardless of experience level.

How long is a private event?

Private event bookings are a minimum of 2 hours, but we’re happy to discuss custom durations based on your needs.

How many people can participate?

Our venues can accommodate groups of various sizes depending on the location and available courts. Typically, each court can host 4-6 players at a time, but larger groups can rotate players for an inclusive and active experience.

Can I just walk in and play?

You may be able to, but we highly recommend booking in advance. Walk-in court time is subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee access.

What’s the price to play?

We like to keep it simple, and most importantly, affordable. Open play is $10 per person, per booking.
